Etched Bottle from IKEA

Here’s another one of my projects from my trip to IKEA. I’ve been wanting a cute little bottle with a stopper to put on the table for dinner. I saw this and couldn’t resist! Went to Hobby Lobby and bought some Armour Etch and came home to try glass etching for the first time. I used my Big Shot and the Scalloped Oval and Serif Essentials Alphabet, cut what I needed out of some extra vinyl I had in my craft room to use as a mask. Cleaned the glass, centered the vinyl, then followed the instructions with a small tweak, I added five minutes to the etching process. It probably could have used more, but it still looks good. Here’s how mine turned out:

SLOM
Bottle with stopper, clear glass, $3.99
Article Number: 501.089.08

**IKEA of Draper invited a group of bloggers and provided us with a yummy breakfast and a small stipend to spend however we chose. Opinions expressed are 100% mine and not influenced in any way.

Christmas Lantern – IKEA style

I was lucky enough to get invited to a SNAP! blogger event at IKEA in Draper, Utah. They opened the store early just for us -loved being able to shop with less crowds!
We could also choose anything from their yummy breakfast menu.

IKEA was very generous and we all received a super cute little IKEA blue bag, one of their chocolate bars and the brand new, not seen by employees yet, drool worthy catalog, and a little shopping spree. Can’t beat that! I was there for almost two hours. I love that store, I’ve even been back once since then.

Some of my favorite things from the catalog are:

IKEA 365+, Bowl, light turquoise,$2.99
Article Number: 101.334.72

UNG DRILL, Mirror, oval, black, $39.99
Article Number: 402.137.59

This is what I bought for one of my DIY projects:

BORRBY, Lantern for block candle, galvanized,$7.99
Article Number: 301.561.08

See how great it looks with some leftover Christmas decor. I added some fringe and strips of fleece to attach the star. I just love it, and I hope you enjoy it as well. It’s never too early to start thinking about new or different ways to decorate your home for the holidays!

Another cool thing I learned while there is the day before they announced that the Draper, Utah store has been converted to solar energy. They installed 4300 solar panels on the roof. Read the Deseret News article here
